Wild Dog
Location/Access
The Wild Dog Gold-Copper project is 100% owned and located ~50 km SSE from the township of Rabaul in the East New Britain province of Papua New Guinea. Access to the project is via a refurbished road that was completed in August 2024.
History/Stage of Exploration
Early- to mid-stage exploration: Sporadic grassroots to resource definition exploration work (1965 to 2002) and small-scale open-pit/heap leach mining (2007-2012).
- The 1,435 km2 land package comprises a >26 km long, NNE trending structural corridor comprising several occurrences of intrusion-related/porphyry/skarn Cu-Au-Mo and epithermal-style Au-Ag mineralization.
- Historic drilling and rock chip sampling has defined gold mineralization over an 11 km strike length. Highlight historical drill intersections include: 8.1m @ 18.77 g/t Au and 0.3% Cu from 14.7m.
- Recent rock-chip sampling from old stockpile dumps near the Wild Dog Zone returned bonanza gold grades including: 242 g/t Au, 601 g/t Ag and 9.52% Cu).
Exploration Strategy
An access road has just been completed and an environmental baseline study is expected to commence soon. Follow-up work (to be determined) will include further mapping and sampling.
